Let the world know about Hero Editor.ARTICLE ENDHeroes (and other game objects) are stored in text files with a simple format, allowing the user to create their own content for Heroes of Newerth. This section describes how they work and provides some examples where available. The most current version of the file format is here . A changelog of revisions is here . The format consists of 3 parts, all on their own line unless specified otherwise. All files are UTF-8 encoded. File names do not have file extensions. Instead, one of the following extensions are used:Note that if savegame files are renamed, they will no longer be playable in the original game client. However, some backup programs will save backup copies with these alternate extensions while saving the original files with their appropriate extension. The savegame format is text based and easy to edit; however, if changes are made to it outside of official patches, they may render the game unplayable. Savegame files begin with a line containing the name of the map and the map level. Following that, there is a list of all objects, groups and heroes that exist on this map and how they are arranged. There is no limit to the number of lines: each hero group does not need its own line. : : : : Total The above shows an example savegame for Team Empire with three groups, one player group, 5 players, 4 heroes. One player has three heroes, another player has four heroes, etc. The total count represents the total number of objects on this map. The text parser reads the list of objects, groups and heroes in this format, then parses it into a "parser tree" where each branch represents one node in the tree. Each branch consists of all objects, groups or heroes contained within it. The root node contains all objects/groups/heroes on the map. Below are some example parsed objects: : : : Total If that is followed by a line containing just "END", then that object ends here. If there are no more lines in the file, then that object has no children to go any further. Hero Editor V 1.13 Download cfa1e77820
